In early July, myself and my business partner (along with a skeleton camera crew) embarked on a 10-day road trip tour of the SEC covering 4,000 miles for a documentary which I've wanted to film for years. . I've been an avid "stadium crashers" since I was a little kid and always found myself going out of my way to check out college football stadiums while on trips and always thought a proper SEC tour would be awesome even during the summer months when no football was going on.
With a shoe-string $10,000 budget we were able to pull this off and have high hopes for the film once it is edited. We have enlisted the services of "Pony Excess" and "Brian and the Boz" director Thaddeus Matula to assist us with this project and possibly to get it into the proper hands upon completion. We were able to land interviews along the way with university employees, fans, etc in order to tell our story about the rich history and cultural landscape of the SEC. Visiting each stadium really became secondary to all the other things we encountered along the way and we were also able to get some gorgeous aerial drone footage from each stadium. Some pics:
Shooting inside Razorback Stadium
Bryant-Denny is quite impressive
Gator Chomping with a few Florida "babes"
Rocky Top
Setting up a key shot outside Commonwealth Stadium (which will be awesome after the construction is complete).
It was a fun adventure for sure despite the insane driving and 10 nights in sleazy motel rooms. Hoping to have the film's trailer out by October. More info can be found at http://www.stadiumcrashers.com
