Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position will serve as a member of the Executive Staff, Senior Staff, and Budget Committee. Attend functions to represent department and act on behalf of Director of Athletics as assigned. Assist in planning, evaluation and implementation of strategic plan.

Administer the operation of athletic compliance in the Department of Athletics. Provide necessary reports, updates and summaries of activities. Represent the Director of Athletics in the area of NCAA and Southeastern Conference compliance and enforcement issues. Responsible for the assurance that all assigned activities are operated in compliance with institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Monitor all departmental activities and programs which involve compliance issues. Coordinate receives from NCAA and SEC for athletics certification.

Provide leadership, administrative support and supervision to all persons within the compliance unit for which responsibility has been delegated. Assist in the planning, evaluation and implementation of all departmental activities under one’s supervision. Maintain expert knowledge of NCAA, Southeastern Conference, federal and institutional rules and regulations. Research outside information sources for additional information that may be pertinent to rules compliance.

Ensure potential violations of NCAA and Southeastern Conference rules are thoroughly investigated and reported. Serves as a liaison to NCAA, SEC, Faculty Athletics Representative and General Counsel to process violations. Approve quarterly violation tracker for distribution to Director of Athletics, Faculty Athletics Representative and the Chancellor.

Provide oversight of Department of Intercollegiate Athletics policies and procedures including updates and websites. Ex-officio to Professional Sports Counseling Panel to assist student-athletes and parents with professional disability insurance and professional sport contract negotiations. This position will have the potential for other areas of oversite as determined by the Director of Athletics.

Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
