Did not happen? Was it still a rebuild after those wins? Were we not supposed to build upon those wins? I thought the early part of the 16 season was the learning curve/ rebuild, eventually culminating in progress to end the season?
Seems like a failure to me. If you take the Vandy and Arky wins out of the equation the rebuild argument sounds a lot better but I guess Barry wants us to forget that as it does not fit the narrative.
The real narrative is Odom took a team comprised of largely the same players and made them considerably worse. A team that fought to get over the hump in 16 has fallen off a cliff in 17.
His players simply were not ready to play football in 2017.
And if I were a betting man, and I am, I don't think Odom thought in a million years, his team would start the season this poorly. Now that they did: it' a rebuild.
