Mizzou has scheduled a three-game series with Middle Tennessee State University. The Blue Raiders will be playing in Faurot Field in 2016 (October 22nd) and 2023 (September 9th). Mizzou will make the return trip in 2022 (September 17th).
This almost fills up next year's non-conference slate (@West Virginia, Eastern Washington, Middle Tennessee State). I would assume we will fill the remaining slot with a 1AA sacrificial lamb. That does not leave for the most enticing home schedule next season: 1AA, Eastern Washington, Middle Tenn. St, Vandy, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas.
If we are going to play road games against the group of five schools, I like that we are scheduling them in fertile recruiting territories.
Another thing to note: it seems like Mizzou is changing up their scheduling strategy a bit. After 2016, it looks like we are constructing our non-con schedules in the following way: Easy Game, Power 5, Easy Game and then a 4th non-con game in the middle of the schedule. That is a change of philosophy from having our four non-conference games all at the beginning of the season.
