Gabe reports that if MPJ is cleared, he'll need a week or two of practice before he'll be able to play. Mizzouman reports that there is an agreement in place that MPJ needs to practice ~7 times before he can play. Cuonzo says in a press conference that he isn't going to play MPJ just 5-10 minutes/game, that if he comes back, he'll be a big part of the rotation. Gabe says yesterday that, while greater than a 50% chance, it's not certain that he plays today and that the decision will be made on Saturday morning.
So it comes out on Thursday that MPJ had only practiced 3-4 times, and, of course, this morning we get the news that Mike won't play today. This, to me, looks like a clear confirmation of all that we've heard so far. The same sources that have reported all of the above have been clear that Mike wants to play this year, and that he will play whenever (but not before) he feels right.
Yet the reaction of the board is that this is a clear sign that Mike never wanted to play for Mizzou, because if he did, he could at least play for 5-10 minutes, and who needs practice anyway, and this is a clear sign that mama and papa Porter are pulling the strings behind the strings because remember when when Mike got hurt and mama Porter was concerned, but, like, not in the normal way that you'd expect when a parent sees their kid get hurt, but in a more nefarious way that made it clear that she was the one true Porter to rule them all and that she would never let any of her kids play for free ever again, but that doesn't matter because Mike is too soft to even want to play anyway.
