The purpose of this communication is to seek your financial support for the Mizzou Softball Program to provide more Team charter flights for away games. In most cases, a charter flight will give the players two more in-class days for each away tournament/series. At this time, the Athletic Department cannot provide adequate funds for more than two, or maybe three, one-way charters. If funds can be raised to support four (4) round-trip charters, it will give the players approximately eight (8) more in-class days. In addition, charter flights from/to Columbia will produce a more rested player, thereby greatly enhancing their on-field and in-class performance. Upon examining the spring schedule in detail, it is estimated that the four (4) round-trip charters will cost approximately $50,000more than that presently allocated by the athletic department. Through the generosity of a few dedicated supporters, $25,000 has already been given. Thus, the remaining need is only $25,000.
We are asking you to consider a gift of $500 or more (however, any gift will be greatly appreciated) in order to raise the funds necessary for the additional charter flights. This gift is tax-deductible.Please make your checks payable to University of Missouri, with Softball Program indicated in the memo section.
