I watched most of the first game softball vs Crowder College. I left in the 7th when the score got to be 15-0. Tory F had a no hitter until the 4rth. She gave up a 1 hit and was pulled after 4. Sami Fagen Crushed a pitch that must have gone 50 Yards past the right field wall. A gentleman in front of me was from San Fran. His Daughter (Danielle) is a Soph in HS verbally committed to Mizzou. She is a pitcher. His oldest daughter pitches on Northwestern. Interesting he has shelled out over 11K for pitching lessons over the years. I guessed it paid off.
Headed over to Simmons to catch some Fall world series before heading over to Greek town for house decs. Talked to a few pitchers on the team while they charting pitches. Tanner Houck was on a pitch count. Throwing between 91- 93. Looked good. Brett Bond had 3 hits and Trey Harris had a couple one of which was a triple. Benes was not there away for a family function but is healthy. We have a solid nucleus with Benes, Harris, Bond, Ring and Howard. Bryce de Orca came in and was wild at times but when he is on could be great. That is what one of the pitchers was saying (when wild could be the worst pitcher or the best. He did bring it 95 a few times.
On Alex Rash has a dead arm and left MU to play basketball at a smaller school. The reason the Nats drafted him but found out with his injury would not sign him. Basically in High school throwing in the 90's and after the game did not ice down. On Reggie McLain MLB thought he was to small and has reached his peak. But does possess a major league Curveball. A bunch of guys are battling for Sunday.
The pitcher who I talked with for 5 innings (won't give his name was awesome and very friendly. He said anything you want to know or ask feel free to do so. All of the guys who I talked to were very polite and were saying yes sir.
Made my weekend a little bit more enjoyable (since the football game did not go very well).
