this isn't an attempt to make Odom look better, worse or in between. But I saw a thing on Twitter that Texas has lost five games or more 18 times in the last 36 seasons. So I checked how often Mizzou has done it.

The answer? 30

That's pretty stunning. Yes it includes all of the desert wandering between 1983 and 1996, but it also includes the good period from 2007-14, an eight year period that is the winningest in school history...in which Mizzou still had three five-loss seasons.

Over the same time period, Mizzou has lost at least six games 23 times (they did it every year from 83 to 96 and then only once from 2005-15)

There have been 18 seasons with at least seven losses, although only three have occurred since 2002

There have been eight seasons with eight losses or more, but only two since 1995 and one since 2000
