Just curious things I'll watch:

1. Stubbornly says a LB will continue to be the nickel back.
2. Says McCann will continue to kick "because I've seen him do it." Although not in front of 60,000 people.
3. Thinks it's ok to unsuccessfully target one receiver with 40% of all pass plays. Success = victory.
4. Changed the entire defense after it was fifth nationally a year ago.
5. Let McCann kick off despite Fatony excelling at touch backs last year.
6. Play so vanilla in the first game of the year - no blitzes, stunts, line slants in first game. No misdirection, crosses, gadgetry. Vanilla. First game was a biggie. Why save anything?
7. Emotionally charged. He had the dear in the headlights look the whole game. I liked Pinkel ranting and pissed off demeanor. Enough Mr. Nice Guy.
8. I understand encouragement works, especially with the young guys. However, if you are to "compete" doesn't there need to be more accountability? I mean this for the players and coaches.
9. The Game One Gameplan was not successful. Must we throw to the sideline every play and be so horizontal? Can we run somewhere other than between the guards? Can we tinker with the secondary knowing Wv speed? Are we going to change to accommodate the opponent or impose our will on them? The coaches had eight months to work on Game One.

Just some things I'll watch. I thought the team was generally improved on offense and confused on defense. I know we are young with players and coaches. Here's to the first victory Saturday.
