It's been one heck of a decade for sporting events in the State of Missouri. Here's a glance at just a few:
- Mizzou hosts ESPN's College Gameday; sets a record attendance and upsets #1 Oklahoma
- St. Louis hosts the World Series and NLCS winning both
- Kansas City hosts MLB All Star game at Kauffman Stadium
- Sporting Kansas City wins MLS Cup
- St. Louis hosts World Series (loses) and NLCS (wins NL Pennant)
- Kansas City hosts World Series (loses in game 7) and ALCS (wins AL Pennant)
- Kansas City hosts World Series (Royals Win!) and ALCS (Wins Pennant)
- Kansas City hosts AFC Championship Game (Chiefs lose in OT)
- Kansas City hosts AFC Championship Game (Chiefs Win)
- St. Louis hosts Standly Cup (Blues win!)
-2020 - St. Louis hosts NHL All Star Game (technically new decade but...)
Needless to say, there is a lot to be proud of in this great state. Athletes who love sports can come to Columbia to compete in collegiate sports and attend amazing professional sports in our two major markets. This doesn't even include the NASCAR races, all the NCAA basketball tournaments hosted in St. Louis and KC; National Gymnastics, NCAA Volleyball and Wrestiling Championships, and all the great things happening at Mizzou. You don't get this in Iowa, Arkansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and many other states.
