STORY
Original story is updated with a linebacker depth chart based on what the players told us, and a QB depth chart based on the same thing. Some notes about both positions -- and I'll have full stories this week on replacing Kentrell Brothers, and a bigger Lock fitting into a new offense.
Programming note -- we can't tweet or report anything we see during the open period unless it's confirmed by a coach or player in interviews afterward. So, the initial practice notebooks going forward are going to be pretty light (or non-existent) unless there are injury updates given.
Afterward, I will try to have a quick-hit notebook which focuses on the position players and assistants available to us. Again, we don't see any actual football being played, so these are going to be more generic overviews, possible story lines, etc. -- but we're not going to get much in terms of the depth chart, position battles, etc., most likely.
