Still support the Up-tempo Offense

I was "concerned" when Odom hired Huepel and while I question some of the play calling and use of personnel, I don't think the up-tempo is the issue.

Running a traditional offense and burning an additional 15 seconds per play won't save Mizzou's defense from getting gassed if the offense continues to go three and out.

Newsflash: Mizzou doesn't have the talent it needs on offense. These guys were part of the worst offense in Mizzou history and no scheme can suddenly make them competitive.

- Lock is struggling (kinda like saying the Titanic had a leak).
- The WR corps continues to fail him on their route running and inability to catch the easy passes.
- The offensive line, while better than I think all of us thought, is still in the bottom third if not last in the SEC.
- The running game seems to work after the game is out of hand and the defense is focused on the pass.

If Mizzou was getting penalized for illegal formations or having a busted play after busted play then I would say the up-tempo isn't working.. but that's not happening.

"We don't have the players to run Baylor's offense!!" .... ugh Mizzou doesn't have the players to run any offense so you might as well run the offense you want to implement and prepare the underclassmen.

That being said, I think the idea of running the offense with Zanders makes sense right now. The only thing "working" for the offense is the running game and specifically Crockett. Running Zone reads and run pass options (RPOs) 80% of time with Zanders seems like the best option to stay competitive this year.

My thoughts after a few drinks in and several dollars lighter after a brutal day of picking winners... It's a win that I'm not typing in spanglish.
