1. So Charlie Strong's gonna get fired. Cause you don't lose to Kansas as the Texas coach and not get fired. At least not Kansas as it currently stands. I don't know if it will come today or wait until after the finale against TCU, but there is no doubt one of the most coveted jobs in college football is about to come open (and the search should last about 17 seconds). And before you ask, yes, I'd listen to Strong as the defensive coordinator at Mizzou. I don't know if he'd listen, but I would.

3. LSU is gonna be looking for a coach too. Ed Orgeron's bid for the permanent job probably came up about six inches short when Florida stopped LSU and the city of Knoxville groaned.
Oh, and about four hours before that, Leonard Fournette and a Florida coach got in a fight
And then Jim McElwain talked some smack
4. Let's go back a few days to when Tom Herman reminded everyone he was Tom Herman. My goodness did Houston put a beatdown on Louisville. 11 sacks, and somewhere in the middle of one of them, Louisville's chances for the playoffs died. That was good because I was really tired of all the whining from all the Louisville people about being No. 5.
5. Is Kliff Kingsbury gonna get fired? Because Iowa State led Texas Tech 42-3 at halftime and won 66-10. That made the Cyclones 3-8 on the season. The struggled to beat Kansas last week. Rough week for the Texas types in the Big 12 (Baylor also got smoked, as did TCU).
6. Colorado's going to the PAC12 title game if it beats Utah. The Buffs beat Washington State 38-24 to hand the Cougars their first conference loss. Mike McIntyre is the no doubt national coach of the year in my mind.
7. Rutgers should maybe be contracted. The Scarlet Knights lost to Penn State 39-0 yesterday. The total ledger in games against Penn State, Michigan State, Ohio State and Michigan? 224-0. That's a zero.
8. My top three in the Heisman race are:
Lamar Jackson, Louisville (yes, still)
Jalen Hurts, Alabama
Korey Davis, Western Michigan
9. The playoff race is this: Alabama is in with one more win. Clemson is in if it wins out. The Ohio State/Michigan winner is almost certainly in. The last spot could very well come down to Wisconsin, Penn State (OSU beats Michigan and Penn State wins the Big 10 title) and Washington. Would be interesting to see a two-loss Big Ten champ against one-loss Washington with a PAC 12 title. If all of those teams manage to falter, Oklahoma comes back into play and to a lesser extent so does Colorado.
10. Five games to watch:
LSU at Texas A&M, 630 Thursday, ESPN
Washington at Washington State, 230 Friday, FS1
Michigan at Ohio State, 11 am Saturday, ABC
Auburn at Alabama, 230 Saturday, CBS
Utah at Colorado, 630 Saturday, Fox
