Texas Governor Abbott was there at the Aggies vs Longhorns charity basketball game last night at Rice's basketball arena in Houston to thank the, umm, dozens of people who turned out to support the Rebuild Texas relief fund in the city right where the hurricane hit. “My next goal as governor is to reunite the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry,” Abbott said.

Rice's arena seats 5,200, and this game couldn't even fill that halfway to capacity. If you're scoring at home, reminder that the Mizzou-ku game sold out the 19,000 seat Sprint Center and of course had tons of people subscribe for pay-per-view TV.

Don't ever forget that Mizzou-kansas is a special basketball rivalry on both sides. We care about hoops, they are insane psychotic a-holes who care about hoops, it works symphonically together and it's special. There are entire massive states out there - Texas, Florida, California - that don't have anything remotely close to offer. Places where their basketball "rivalry" gets you 2,000 fans and no TV.
