This Wingo experience gives me an idea. The goal: create a 'Blue Blood Premium,' then come in and start scooping up a ton of low-4-star, high-3-star guys they don't want to pay the premium for anymore.
If Texas and the Wingos of the world are going to play us like this, let's hoist them on their own patard.
1. MASSIVELY bid up the price on Wingo even more. Like get it obscenely high, then let them have him. Get them bidding against themselves.
2. Publicize the F out of that number to ALL their croots and existing guys.
3. Pseudo target a couple of their guys in the portal. Get them bidding in a MASSIVE way for those guys.
4. Publicize that 'Everything is Bigger in Texas' and they're paying these "transfer targets" more. Then, approach others indirectly, get them to have to increase the payout to EVERY player on the team to keep the locker room on board AT ALL.
5. Boom. Blue Blood Premium is now in effect. Publicize 'Everything is Bigger in Texas' and make clear to EVERY HS and transfer recruit that they pay wayyy above market.
6. Work with boosters at TCU, Baylor, Houston, Texas Tech - every in-state Texas school - to MASSIVELY bid up EVERY other HS recruit they want. Make them overpay. But it's okay, bc 'Everything is bigger in Texas.'
7. The trap is set. Start targeting the F out of the high 3-star and low 4 star, sliiiightly under-the-radar Texas kids for '25. Make it clear on the recruiting trail that to go to Texas, they should all expect wayyy more than what anyone else pays. Capitalize on the guys just under Texas' willingness to pay that premium. Exhaust their NIL by means of gaming them and making them bid against themselves. Absolutely destroy Texas and EVERY other Blue blood this way. Want to outbid us for a 5-star St. Louis kid? Fine. Get ready to overpay for EVERY kid you want. Period.
