Last year's team actually lost the non-conf close call to Indiana, this years team found a way to pull it out against UConn.

I have posed the rhetorical question regarding all of the close games Missouri won last year: Did Mizzou get lucky, or did our team simply find a way to win? It would appear that this team may have a similar type season, lots of close games that come down to a few key plays. No one can deny that Pinkel and Mauk have found a way to win.

I don't see a QB controversy. When Lock enters the game, anyone who knows much about football can see that his plays are designed to give him experience and confidence, and the plan is working brilliantly. He is always first read, hit an open man. Against UConn we saw what happens when you take that away, and he got lucky. He almost had his first INT. That near miss will be very helpful if he is required to play down the road.

Also, we have no idea how he can run. I honestly think that Lock has a better arm that Mauk, but in the Mizzou system, that may only be 50% of the position. We like our QB's to run the ball, and I have no idea if Lock can do that.

Pinkel has never done very well in the Non con games. He clearly runs a more conservative play book. It is my hope that we will see a much more creative offense against Kentucky. Also, the O-Line got MUCH better as the year progressed last year. I am hopeful to see that development as well.

The most important part of my post: So far, we have not failed. We haven't looked very good, but we are still 3-0. Until we lose a game we should win, I am not yet hitting the panic button. Haters can hate because they can then say, "I told you so." But I would rather have a winning football season.
