In having some time to digest both Odoms reactions and those of the players one thing is clear. Both were unprepared for what happened on Saturday. The players had the same I don't know answer that the coaches did.
The team is playing to the level that they are coached. The team is not being put in situations where their natural talent, whatever that is , can be maximized. Hence they continue to fail. Rather than adjust the system to the players, Odom seems to be stuck on adjusting the players to the system. And the team either can't or won't accommodate the adjustments.
This is oil and water at this point. The minute any leader says I don't know what's wrong they are placing themselves and those they lead at risk. To right the ship, new and different leadership is required.
If Sterk allows the narrative to continue as written on Saturday, inept buffoonery will be what defines the Mizzou football program. If on the other hand he shows boldness and purges the system of leaders who despite being great guys aren't getting the job done, he will be placing the program on a course for recovery.
To delay only deepens the trough. Act now, start the search, change the narrative and start moving forward...
