FOOTBALL RECRUITING

ICYMI, the updated Rivals250 Rankings dropped on Tuesday. Here is a breakdown of the movement among the Missouri commitments...

Donovan Olugbode - No. 39, +17 spots: Won MVP honors at the Rivals 5-Star Challenge in Jacksonville over the summer, which led to his move up.
Lamont Rogers - No. 76, -2 spots
Charles Bass - No. 97, unchanged
Matt Zollers - No. 104, -34 spots: Likely fell due to his overall performance at the Elite 11 Finals this summer.
Jamarion Morrow - No. 148, -9 spots
Jack Lange - No. 176, -12 spots

- Missouri also had two commitments see their rankings rise to four-star status

- Lewis rose from a 5.6, 3-star to a 5.8, 4-star

- Fenuku saw a slight bump from a 5.7, 3-star to a 5.8, four-star

With the recent rankings update, Missouri now has 10 of their 16 current commitments ranked a 5.8, 4-star or higher. That is the most since their 2022 class, which featured seven signees ranked a 5.8, 4-star or higher. Mizzou's 2010 class also featured seven signees in that category.

One of the top targets came off the board when Epenesa committed to Iowa on Thursday. This should be a surprise to no one. The Hawkeyes were always the favorite against the field. There were times that seemed shaky and there was a lack of confidence coming out of Iowa City, but in the end, the family ties won out. But as we've been telling you for a few weeks, if it wasn't Iowa, we still were relatively confident it wasn't going to be Missouri.

Attention now turns mostly to Babalola in terms of 2025 blue-chippers. A decision could come at any time. One source told us a few days ago it could come this week. It hasn't. When it does, again, we aren't overly optimistic about Missouri's chances, but the Tigers are continuing to make their pitch.

- We've talked a lot about Clayton II recently, who is Mizzou's top quarterback target in the 2026 class. After taking two summer trips to Columbia in June and July, the Rivals250 will return to campus in November for the Tigers' matchup with Oklahoma. The four-star also plans to take in game day trips to Nebraska, South Carolina, Louisville, and Ole Miss.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING

There should be some visitors starting to hit campus in the next few weeks with the start of football season. News came out a couple of weeks ago that five-star Jalen Haralson will take an official visit on September 21. He won't be the only big name prospect on campus.

Sources tell us that 2026 four-star JJ Andrews will also make an official visit this fall. The expectation is that will be the weekend of September 14th, but we're trying to get final confirmation on that date.

A couple of younger standouts are expected on campus when Mizzou plays Murray State on August 29.

Vashon's Jimmy McKinney Jr. and Logan Rogersville's Chase Branham will both be in town on unofficial visits for that one. Both players are members of the Class of 2027 who hold Mizzou offers and are likely to see their recruitments increase in the coming months.

We're working with a pretty small group of 2025 prospects for Mizzou at this point in time so a lot of the visitors and recruitment during the fall will be focusing on 2026 and 2027 prospects. As things pick up, we'll keep you posted.
