FOOTBALL RECRUITING

- Missouri hosted three linebacker targets last week in Brayshawn Littlejohn, K'Vion Thunderbird, and Dickson Agu. We don't think Mizzou will take all three. So far, we've only been able to get reaction from Agu (CLICK HERE FOR FULL STORY) who said his visit to Columbia was "amazing." For now, it seems neither Agu nor Thunderbird are current takes for Missouri as they'll continue to evaluate both during the fall.

We do sense that Littlejohn is a take for Missouri and likely close to announcing his decision very soon. In fact, a FutureCast was logged on Thursday in favor of the Tigers.

- Shamar McNeil was another Missouri visitor last week that quickly gave his verbal pledge to the coaching staff during his visit. The American Heritage (Fla.) cornerbacks adds size to the secondary, listed at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds. McNeil joins Cahokia (Ill.) Nicholas DeLoach as defensive back pledges in Mizzou's 2023 class.

The Tigers also brought in four-star safety Marvin Burks and three-star cornerback Jyaire Hill for official visits in June. Both remain uncommitted at this point.

Along with Missouri, Burks also took summer officials to Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Oklahoma and LSU are the other schools among his Top 5 and both of those programs could get officials in the fall.

Hill took June officials to Illinois and Missouri. Michigan is still in the mix and Florida State recently extended an offer as well.

- Hillgrove (Ga.) OL Benjamin Galloway was another notable 2023 prospect at Missouri last week. He picked up an offer after working out for the staff and now the Tigers are a major player in his recruiting process. Galloway noted that Missouri likes him at left tackle and his future plans include taking fall officials. He plans to return to Missouri and also take visits to Georgia Tech, Houston, Maryland, South Florida, and Houston. CLICK HERE FOR A FULL RECAP

- Missouri also had some notable underclassmen on campus for visits and to participate in their Ambush Camp last Friday. CBC 2025 WR Corey Simms was on campus for a visit, he picked up an offer from Mizzou after camping in June. The Tigers also extended new offers to the following prospects.

LeonTre Bradford, 2024 S, ESL - also has offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Maryland, and Nebraska
Sael Reyes, 2025 S, ESL - also has offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Texas A&M
Charles Bass, 2025 CB, ESL - offers from Ole Miss, Iowa State, Illinois, Nebraska, Tennessee.
Tionne Gray, 2025 OL/DL, Hazelwood Central - also holds an offer from Arkansas

- One of Missouri's top offensive line targets, Miles McVay, is set to announce his decision on August 11th. While the four-star did make one last visit to Missouri last week. He also went back to Alabama again last weekend and we're still feeling that he'll choose the Crimson Tide on Thursday. At this point, if something were to change and he's not a take at Alabama, we would put Michigan State as the favorite. Missouri won't quit recruiting him, but the Tigers have slipped here. We know people want to know "What changed?" Ultimately, what really changed is that Alabama picked up its pursuit. It's pretty rare for Missouri to get a kid that Alabama really wants. The other thing that changed seems to just be time. Early on in his recruitment, most expected Missouri to be the destination, especially after Luther Burden picked the Tigers. But as time went on, McVay had more options. Until Mizzou establishes itself as a destination for local players, kids with more options are going to have wandering eyes around the country. It's not a new development. Can it change? Sure. But it takes a lot of time and a lot of winning and it's still no guarantee.

- There is good news on the offensive line front though. We still feel excellent about Missouri's chances at Logan Reichert. Reichert told us recently he was looking at a September 8th commitment, but 'it could be sooner." We wouldn't be surprised if it was sooner. But regardless of when it is, we will be surprised if it isn't Missouri.

- On August 1st, schools from across the nation sent out "official offer" graphics to their top targets in the 2023 class. One notable target that tweeted out an official offer from Missouri was four-star defensive end Ta'Derius Collins out of Northwood (La.). Collins did tell us he is "very interested" in Missouri, so we'll see how things progress here. He also tweeted out official offers from Mississippi State, Indiana, Texas, and TCU. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect took an official with Indiana in June.
