So let's jump around here a little bit. TOMORROW MIGHT BE MICHAEL PORTER JR DAY. Or it might not. We'll see. TBD on Saturday morning. Listening to everything that Cuonzo Martin said, we'd expect that he plays. We also know that we don't really know and it's nothing more than a guess. But based on the fact it was put out there he was cleared and the fact that Martin is openly talking about him playing and the fact that ESPN wrote a story citing NBA GM's saying he should play...we think he plays.

Now that that's out of the way, hopefully you all are still reading and not searching the Internet for some messed up GIF of Kermit the Frog pleasuring himself because that's not really a normal response to news about a college basketball player (sorry, but it just isn't). So let's get to the recruiting stuff.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Mizzou will host a junior day this weekend. There are going to be quite a few players there, both from in and out of state. Here is the list we have so far of confirmed visitors.

Danielson Ike, OT, Rockhurst
Zykamren Robinson, RB, Spartanburg (SC)
Jack Buford, OT, Lutheran North
Isaiah Williams, ATH, Trinity Catholic
Mookie Cooper, 2020 ATH, Trinity Catholic
James Frenchie, 2020 ATH, Trinity Catholic
Ira Henry, OG, Trinity Catholic
D'Vion Harris, DE, Lutheran North
Traevon Williams, 2020 OT, Lutheran North
Kevon Billingsley, 2020 DE, Lutheran North
Jalen St John, 2020 OT, Trinity Catholic
Martez Poynter, 2020 DE, Trinity Catholic
Joe Moore, 2020 DE, Cardinal Ritter
Joel Stevens, OT, Lee's Summit North
Vonzell Kelley, S, Lee's Summit West
MJ Anderson, DE, CBC
Johnny Wilson, 2020 DE, Park Hill
Ontario Russell, RB, Lee's Summit North
Jayden Russell, S, St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.)
Christian Mahogany, OT, Paramus Catholic (N.J.)

It's also possible that Marcus Washington makes the trip. But Washington was just in last weekend. It's been thought all along that Missouri has very little chance. That's changed after the visit. Multiple sources have told us that the trip went very well and that Washington really hit it off with new receivers coach A.J. Ofodile. The Tigers are now strongly in the conversation here and with a good season and continued recruiting efforts have a definite chance to land him. It won't be a recruitment that ends quickly, but it is one where Mizzou appears to have a much better opportunity than it did a couple of weeks ago.

At running back, one person told us Zykamren Robinson is a guy who could end up with 25 offers. So getting him on campus this early is big. Another back who has already visited is Knowledge McDaniel, a high school teammate of Tyrone Collins who plays for Curt Bradley (Phil's son) in Florida. Mizzou offered McDaniel very early. Quite a few others are now following suit.

We're not really looking for any commitments this weekend, but stranger things have happened. We'll chase down as many of these guys as we can in the days after the visit.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING

This is what we call "burying the lede" just to make sure you guys all kept reading. So here you go.

If you missed it last night, Tyler Cook was asked by Iowa reporters if he was going to be back at Iowa next season. He said "Only God knows." The feeling is that Cook knows too and he's unlikely to return to the Hawkeyes.

The feeling in Iowa City is that Cook will declare for the NBA Draft. He may not sign with an agent and go pro, or he may, but he's expected to explore some professional opportunities. If he transfers to another school, Missouri is widely thought to be that school. But most we've talked to think he'd prefer going pro--even if it meant playing in Europe--to sitting out a season. We'll keep you posted. Now that Iowa's season is over, this story could move at any time. We'll see what happens. Still would put the chances at Cook ending up in CoMo below 50%, but we'll keep an eye on it.

The big news in recruiting revolves, again, around Webster Groves point guard Courtney Ramey. Webster plays Vianney in district play tonight at Oakville High School at 7 p.m. We are told Cuonzo Martin is expected to be at the game. PowerMizzou may be at the game as well.

Even bigger than the fact that Martin will be at Oakville tonight is that we're told Ramey will be in Columbia for the game against Arkansas tomorrow. We aren't ready to call Missouri the favorite here quite yet. We've gotten mixed feedback. All believe Missouri's chances are rising fast. Some aren't ready to call them the favorite, others think he could commit to the Tigers and do so fairly soon. Not sure where it stands, but the Tigers are absolutely in the thick of this. We don't really expect anything to happen until Webster's season ends, but this is the No. 1 recruiting story we're following right now. If we have a chance to talk to Ramey or his father this weekend, we'll certainly pass along anything we get and we'll be keeping an eye out for him at the game tomorrow.

That's all for now. Go find your Kermit GIFs you perverts.
