The Chamber has a tee time this morning, so your reward is an early Chamber. Forgive any grammatical errors, typos or general lethargy (look it up) because the Chamber is saving its energy for chasing a tiny ball through the trees at least 100 times today. Also, it's going to be shorter than some Chambers in the past (don't worry, we've heard size doesn't matter) because the fact is it's May and this tends to be the slowest recruiting month on the calendar year in and year out.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

- Missouri will have a big, and I mean, big official visitor on campus this weekend in former Florida commit and Taylor (Tex.) offensive tackle Andrew Coker. The three-star prospect obviously has a previous relationship with offensive line coach Brad Davis during his time on the Florida staff. Missouri will be Coker's first official visit and he told us he does not have any others scheduled at the moment. Texas extended an offer recently to the 6-foot-7, 335-pound prospect, who also holds offers from the likes of Georgia, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and others. Here's the biggest obstacle for Missouri (and everyone else) right now:

Certainly a big thing to get him on campus and get his first official visit. But it won't be easy.

- Moving on to quarterback chatter, Missouri target Sam Johnson tweeted this week that he will make his college decision on May 7th. The three-star prospect has the Tigers in his Top 5, however, he has not stepped foot on campus yet. All indications are that he'll end up choosing Iowa or Boston College.

- Speaking of Mizzou quarterback targets and Top 5's, KJ Jefferson teased that he may be close to releasing his own Top 5 soon. We have every reason to believe that Missouri will make the cut with the three-star prospect, who visited back in March and loved the atmosphere. Jefferson remains a viable option and one of the Tigers top quarterback targets in the class.

- Missouri did extend an offer this week to Central Gwinnett (Ga.) signal caller Justin Fomby. According to many we've talked to, his recruiting process is about to explode and with Mizzou being the first power five school to throw their name in the hat, they are hoping it pays off. We believe the 6-foot-5, 190-pound prospect is now very high on Mizzou's QB board.

- Sean Williams will be attending the Rivals Camp in Columbus, where a lot of Michigan/Detroit area targets and prospects are expected to attend. Including the likes of Missouri OLB commit Aidan Harrison, Jaren Mangham, Marvin Grant, Rashawn Williams, Tre Mosley, and others.

- One guy you can probably scratch off Missouri's list is Rock Bridge RB Nathaniel Peat. The Tigers offered very early and we thought he might even be the first 2019 commitment at one point. But Mizzou's interest cooled. With new offensive staff, interest picks up on some guys and wanes on others. Peat appears to be one of the latter. The more likely Rock Bridge player to end up in Mizzou's class would be Martez Manuel, who the Tigers offered earlier this week.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING

- The big news this week was that Missouri checked in on 2018 Florida prospect Keyshawn Bryant. Read a little more about it here. If the Tigers offer, it looks like another Mizzou/Ole Miss face-off. Bryant is a ridiculous athlete and a bit of a project from everything we've read. There aren't perfect players on the market right now. So Cuonzo Martin and staff will have to decide whether the upside is worth the risk and tying up a scholarship. Stay tuned.

Other than Bryant, there just doesn't appear to be a lot out there for the 2018 class at this point. Surprises can always happen and Martin even mentioned the possibility of a mid-year transfer. But the truth is, anybody that's added right now probably shouldn't be counted on as a major contributor for next season. The roster is more or less set.

- We did check out the post that said Carte'Are Gordon was visiting Columbia this weekend. Our source (close to Gordon) didn't believe there was anything to it. Gordon hasn't asked out of his LOI with St. Louis so far as we know and if he does, the word is that Memphis would be the school he'd look at. Speaking truthfully, even if Gordon became available, we'd put the chances Missouri would pursue him at 50/50 or a little less.

- We've had a lot of stuff about 2019 and 2020 prospects in the last week based off Mitchell Forde's work in Indianapolis last weekend. The only new nuggets surround E.J. Liddell.

In addition to that, there is some chatter that Kentucky has offered Liddell. We want to stress we haven't confirmed that, but it wouldn't come as a major surprise. Bottom line is that Liddell is going to have a ton of suitors. We nominate him as the prospect most likely to cause daily angst on The Lair for the next six month.
