Let's start off the new year the right way with some speculation on how Eli Drinkwitz could finish up the 2021 class. There will be all kinds of activity in the transfer portal. Missouri will be a part of that. There are five to seven spots left in the class and the bulk of those will likely be used in the most active transfer market college football has ever seen.

Some names in the portal that Missouri is showing interest in or at least reached out to. We are basing this on social media activity, conversations we have had, etc. We can't pinpoint the level of interest on each individual at this point in time, just telling you that these are some of the names worth at least paying attention to in the next few weeks (any transfer is going to want to get things done pretty quickly. If you get it done in the next few weeks, you can enroll in class for the spring semester and be on campus for spring ball, which is going to greatly increase your chances of contributing immediately).

Mookie Cooper, WR, Ohio State - Was the 58th ranked prospect in the 2020 class coming out of St. Louis. Did not record a catch during his freshman campaign with the Buckeyes.

Latrell Bankston, DT, Iowa State - A transfer from Hutchinson C.C. that tallied 16 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in his lone year at Iowa State this past season.

Antonio Shelton, DT, Penn State - A 21-game starter for the Nittany Lions the last two seasons where he recorded 31 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks.

Jammie Robinson, DB, South Carolina - A two-year starter at safety and nickel for the Gamecocks that tallied 135 tackles and two interceptions.

Boe Wilson, OG, Nebraska - Appeared in 39 games overall for Nebraska. Started nine games in 2018 and recorded 12 starts at right guard in 2019. Appeared in four games, including two starts this past season.

Ty'Kieast Crawford, OT, Charlotte - Played in six games and started three for the 49ers this past season. Is planning to be a January enrollee and being closer to home (Carthage, Texas). Crawford tweeted that a "big decision is coming soon" on Thursday, some Arkansas vibes here it seems.

Austin Pope, TE, Tennessee - Known more for his run-blocking ability, Pope recorded just seven catches for 85 yards during his time in Knoxville. He started in 11 of 13 games in 2019 and missed this past season due to herniated disc surgery.

QUICK NOTES:

- Niceville (Fla.) offensive lineman Kimo Makaneole decommitted from Florida State on Monday and committed to LSU at midnight last night. The three-star prospect had an offer from Missouri.

- Keeler is one 2021 JUCO prospect that Missouri is showing some interest in. Keeler is a mid-year qualifier that has picked up recent P5 offers from Mississippi State and Texas Tech in the last few days. He also has offers from Arizona State, Middle Tennessee, Hawai'i, South Alabama, and Louisiana. Keeler is originally from Chicago and is the older brother of Rutgers 2021 signee Ryan Keeler. He's looking to make a decision in the coming days, so Missouri would have to act fast if they really wanted him.

2022 NOTES:

- ICYMI, Midwest analyst Josh Helmholdt caught up with Festus (Mo.) 2022 athlete and current Baylor commit Kaian Roberts-Day at "The Show" camp down at IMG Academy over the weekend. Despite his commitment to the Bears, the three-star target said he's hearing plenty from Missouri's staff as well. He appears to be another in-state target the Tigers are hoping to add in next year's class. He's absolutely open to hearing from other schools and some have told us they believe he'll end up much closer to home than Waco.

- Pollard is one of the top prospects in the state of Tennessee in the 2022 class and has a laundry list of offers from top programs from around the country. The four-star prospect recently told us that Missouri is a school that is recruiting him hard and he recently did a virtual tour with the Tigers' staff. Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Oregon are other schools that are showing a lot of interest right now as well.
