FOOTBALL RECRUITING
- After a bit of a tease on his Instagram and Twitter accounts to begin the week, Holmes Co. (Miss.) defensive tackle Montra Edwards formally announced his commitment to Missouri on Wednesday evening. Obviously, a big get for Missouri considering they lost three D-line commitments during the coaching change. There are also academic concerns with current defensive end commit Kevon Billingsley, so expect the defensive front to be a focal point for the Tigers heading into February. In terms of Edwards and if he'll take other visits, we don't know right now. We can say with pretty good confidence that the scheduled trip to Arkansas won't happen. In terms of Maryland, not sure where things stand there. Edwards will be back at Missouri on January 24th for his second official visit.
- The battle to land a commitment from Rakestraw continues to be an uphill climb for Missouri, especially with Alabama entering the race for the three-star defensive back earlier this week. However, the Tigers are still in the mix, but the competition is getting more difficult with Georgia and Alabama also in the race. Those are the top contenders for Rakestraw, according to his recent article with Sam Spiegelman. He is scheduled to take an official visit to Missouri on January 24th. Rakestraw tweeted on Friday morning that he will visit Mizzou, Georgia and Alabama. Ohio State is viewed as a strong contender for his fourth visit before signing day.
- A reminder that Luper is another 2020 target that will be taking an official visit to Missouri later this month. Chance did not sign with Boise State in December and also has notable offers from Cal, Indiana, Louisville, Wake Forest, and others. He is the son of Missouri assistant Curtis Luper.

FOOTBALL NEWS
There is one vacancy left on the staff and we expect it to be filled in short order. An offensive line coach could be named as soon as Friday. We're chasing down some leads on this. Don't have information we're comfortable putting out quite yet, but we are hoping to have it today. If we can confirm the info, we'll pass it on as soon as possible.
