FOOTBALL RECRUITING
TRANSFER TALK:
In case you missed it from Thursday, Missouri landed a commitment from Montana State grad transfer offensive tackle Connor Wood. His addition fills one of the three voids Missouri was looking to add through the portal.

AKAYLEB EVANS ANNOUNCING TONIGHT:
***Tulsa defensive back target Akayleb Evans took to Twitter on Thursday night to announce he will be making his college decision tonight at 7 p.m. (CST). Evans took an official visit to Missouri last weekend and has also made trips to Notre Dame and Texas that we know of. A lot of people think this is a Texas/Missouri battle and the Tigers are hoping for a win due to his connection with current secondaries coach Aaron Fletcher, who was Evans' position coach at Tulsa previously.
NOTHING NEW ON TRANSFER RB TARGET:
***We don't have anything new to report with TCU running back transfer Darwin Barlow. Hard to get a read on him as he's staying very quiet throughout his recruiting process. Missouri is still feeling good coming off of last weekend's visit. Southern Cal was trying to get him on campus this weekend, but we haven't seen any reports confirming he's heading out west. If we hear anything new regarding Barlow, we'll pass it along.
ANOTHER SET OF OFFICIAL VISITS
***In terms of quantity, it will be another light weekend for Missouri when it comes to official visitors but three important targets will be in Columbia to see what the Tigers are all about.
- Simmons has had an offer from Missouri since the first of the year and is a prospect we've mentioned a few times as one of their primary linebacker targets. He's coming off an official visit to Virginia Tech last weekend. Back in late April, Simmons said he also planned to take officials to North Carolina, Virginia, and NC State as well.
- Scott has been committed to LSU since January, but that didn't stop Missouri from extending an offer back in early March. We've heard rumblings the last couple of weeks that Missouri could possibly get the four-star cornerback on campus, that will happen this weekend.
- Stokes is a prospect that we've mentioned numerous times since he picked up an offer. The three-star prospect is coming off an official visit to Vanderbilt last weekend. He's also got an official scheduled with Michigan on June 18th. He's also taken unofficial trips to South Carolina, Clemson and plans to visit Louisville, Penn State, and Minnesota as well. We expect his recruiting process to go on well into the fall.
POTENTIAL RESCHEDULE:
- Paul was originally scheduled to take an official visit this weekend, but had to return to his native Canada, so a potential reschedule is still possible. The three-star prospect has taken early officials to Duke and Vanderbilt so far. All programs are recruiting him as a defensive back.
LATEST ON LUTHER BURDEN:
- Always a hot topic of discussion, but this past week Burden made it more publicly known through social media that he will be taking other visits this summer. One schools he's already been to twice is Missouri for Night at the Zou on the 2nd and recently returning on the 6th. He's also expected back in Columbia on the 24th when Missouri has their 7-on-7 tournament which will likely feature East St. Louis. Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Indiana, and Florida are other schools Burden will check out as well.
With that being known, it's created a bit of national buzz now, as noted in this recent Fact or Fiction piece:
Rivals.com: Rivals Football & Basketball Recruiting - Fact or Fiction: Five-star Luther Burden will sign with Oklahoma
Five-star receiver Luther Burden committed to Oklahoma in October.

Missouri has no-doubt positioned themselves well with the highly-coveted five-star wide receiver. We'll see how this one plays out, but we probably won't have a final answer until pen hits paper.
OFF THE BOARD:
***On Thursday, Blue Valley (Ks.) offensive lineman Nick Herzog committed to Northwestern. Herzog visited and worked out for Missouri at center, earning an offer from the Tigers in the process.
***We had previously mentioned Lake Minneola (Fla.) defensive end Nick Campbell was a target Missouri was hoping to get on campus sometime this summer. However, the three-star committed to NC State after his official visit there last weekend.
NEW TARGETS AND NOTES:
***Missouri held their second on-campus camp of the month on Thursday and dished out new offers to 2023, four-star offensive tackle Miles McVay out of East St. Louis as well as CBC 2023 running back Jeremiyah Love.

HOOPS RECRUITING:
***As you all probably know, there will be an important official visitor on campus this weekend. Five-star Kansas City native Mark Mitchell will take his official visit. There has been quite a bit of chatter that UCLA is the team to beat with Mitchell, but the Mizzou staff appears to believe they still have a shot. We believe he is absolutely at the top of Missouri's board. We will of course do everything we can to get in touch with Mitchell after the weekend to ask him about his experience, so stay tuned.
***On another note, a new high-profile name surfaced this week in Adem Bona. First of all, this just illustrates how stealthy Cuonzo Martin and his staff can be on the recruiting front. Second, we can confirm that Mizzou is heavily in pursuit of the California big man, who is originally from Nigeria. Obviously, the competition will be stiff, as Bona's other reported top schools include Kentucky, USC, and UCLA. For now, we would characterize him as a name to keep an eye on but not to get overly optimistic. Hope to get in touch with him soon.
