Look, we've tried to tell you that The Chamber can't be loaded every single week. I mean, @Sean_Williams @_keeganpope and @mitchell4d have been dropping knowledge non-stop for the last couple weeks and @GabeD is still hanging around cashing checks, so there's not that much left for @the chamber to do honestly. But let's be honest here: The Chamber is like pizza and sex. Even its bad days are better than the good days for most posters. By the official @Numbahs like to post ratio metric (the PM poster equivalent of true shooting percentage), The Chamber is dusting the rest of you fools. It has a 6.5:1 like to post ratio. That's like 65000 times better than Kalen Grimes' career assist to turnover ratio.
Plus, it's Father's Day weekend. The Chamber has plans to drink copious amounts of Boulevard Beer with @sptwri tonight, followed by a weekend of U.S. Open viewership sandwiched around a swim meet. Point is, the rest of you deadbeat dads should get off the Internet and go spend time with your fathers or children.
Anyway, for those of you who weren't insulted enough to log off, here's a couple things (and we're not gonna spend our morning recapping every single thing that's been on the board this week. There's a lot of recruiting info to be found on here)
FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Sean Williams was covering Vanderbilt's summer camps on Thursday where Missouri DT target Elijah Simmons took part in their Elite OL/DL camp and put in one of the most dominating performances he's seen. At 6-foot-1, 344-pounds, Simmons has tremendous strength, quickness, and athleticism that he displayed throughout individual and agility drills and he couldn't be blocked during the 1-on-1 portion of the camp, winning every rep he took. Vanderbilt won't extend an offer to him right now because Simmons still has some work to do in the classroom to get up to their standards, but the Memphis staff (including head coach Mike Norvell) was there evaluating him and we've heard Tennessee is close to offering as well. Simmons told me he wants to get up to Missouri this summer, he just doesn't know when that will happen yet.
At this point, the Chamber is gonna offer a couple of prognostications. We'd be surprised to see Marcus Washington and Ira Henry end up anywhere besides Missouri. Is it possible? Sure. But all signs are that the two Trinity standouts have Missouri as the team to beat. Summer commitments wouldn't be a surprise from either. Washington will visit Ohio State next weekend. If he comes out of that without a commitment, look for a Mizzou announcement sometime leading up to or coming out of Night at the Zou. Henry is probably going to take a few more visits this summer, but we'd look for a pre-season announcement out of him as well.
Don't completely write off Shamar Nash. We're hearing some talk that he's still interested in visiting Mizzou. But if we're being honest, we don't expect it to happen. He was looking around from the minute he committed and even if he wanted to visit, the staff would have to make sure it was serious rather than just a free trip. It's our opinion that Missouri will probably move on to focus on other receivers rather than playing the game with Nash.
No official visitors this weekend. Next week could be a final chance to get some guys on campus and we'll make sure to have that information next Friday. Overall, we'd say look for at least a couple more commitments prior to Night at the Zou. The priority is clearly a quarterback. It seems like the Tigers are in excellent shape with Connor Bazelak and we're definitely keeping an eye on Justin Fomby as well.
BASKETBALL RECRUITING
Really just a holding pattern here for a couple weeks. Prospects are going to finish up the AAU season. The staff can't get back on the road until the second week in July. Any commitments prior to then would come as a surprise to be honest.
The only stuff of interest here right now is Eric Bossi's latest with E.J. Liddell. He remains target 1A for the 2019 class and will be so until he makes a commitment somewhere. The rest of the class will fill in based on what he does.
That's it. Happy Father's Day, deadbeats.
