FOOTBALL RECRUITING

- Missouri kept their momentum rolling among the JUCO ranks by adding Coffeyville C.C. OL Ma'Kyi Lee. He talked with us about his official visit and commitment to the Tigers HERE.

Lee becomes the third JUCO commitment for Missouri since May 6th, joining Hutchinson (Kan.) C.C. wide receiver Damariyon Houston and Gulf Coast (Miss.) C.C. cornerback Les Hewitt - all will enroll at Missouri this summer.

- Katy (Tex.) defensive back Johnathan Hill is the latest official visitor added to the month of June for Missouri. The three-star will take his trip to Como the weekend of June 10th. Hill has kept a low profile throughout his recruiting process, so it's hard to gauge what other schools are involved. LSU, Nebraska, and Florida State are his most recent offers.

- You can also add Olathe (Kan.) South defensive end Jordan Allen to the list of official visitors for June 10th. The three-star visited Missouri back in March for a spring practice before receiving an offer in May. Currently, Allen has other officials scheduled with Iowa State (June 17th) and Iowa (June 24th).

- Another official visitor for June 10th is now Dickinson (Tex.) wide receiver Marquis Johnson, who was originally scheduled for the "big" weekend of June 24th but he has moved it up. Johnson has direct ties with the Tigers programs as his father, Domonique, played for two years at Missouri during the '05 and '06 seasons. For more on Marquis, CLICK HERE.

- The Tigers won't have anyone on campus this weekend, which is the first summer weekend eligible for 2023 official visitors. The entire staff will be at the Lindenwood mega camp on Friday and Saturday where there is supposed to be a pretty strong crop of prospects in attendance. On Sunday, the coaches will stay in St. Louis to run a free youth camp for young players in St. Louis. You can keep up with the list of confirmed visits we have here. We were told yesterday that June should be a very busy month on the recruiting front so we'll keep you updated as things happen and as we get information.

- Missouri had 2024 in-state, five-star WR target Ryan Wingo back on campus this past Tuesday. Wingo is the No. 3 player in next year's class, so it's always good to get one of the most wanted prospects on a national level on your campus. The SLUH product has picked up quite a few new offers throughout the spring as the likes of Michigan, Oregon, Miami, LSU, Oklahoma, and others.

- Mizzou held its first "prospect camp" on Thursday. We hung around and watched, but these camps have changed so much. Years ago, they served as a way for coaches to get a look at some of the top prospects in the area. Players that were on the verge of an offer would come to earn one and a lot of players who already had one would stop by just to be recruited. Some of them would even work out. Those days are over. These camps are largely for players who aren't likely to ever get an offer or play at this level, but they want a day on a college campus to get some college-level interaction and instruction. If there are any prospects, they're largely underclassmen. There may be a couple younger players at camp who emerge in the 2024 or 2025 classes as names to watch, but for the most part, the big names are already known prior to these camps. They're not nearly as much of an evaluation/recruiting tool as they used to be. The exception may be Mizzou's 7-on-7 camp, which is coming up on June 17 and we'll be at that.
