Most of The Chamber's readers seem to have given up. The consensus is that Missouri will never sign another player in football and may or may not ever sign one in basketball. But The Chamber trudges on because that's what The Chamber does. It works every week, it covers the news good and bad and it refers to itself in the third person. The Chamber can only control The Chamber. It cannot control the reactions to itself, no matter how rational or irrational they may be.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

We've been waiting for a Burdine commitment for a few days now. We were initially told it would happen this past Sunday or Monday, but has obviously been pushed back. We're now hearing to possibly expect an announcement will happen sometime this weekend. Nothing has changed with our feeling that it will most likely be Missouri and the hold up has simply been the commitment video.

Initially, Wilson's visit to Gainesville this past weekend was suppose to be an official visit. However, it turned out just being an unofficial trip to the school he is currently committed to. It appears the visit went well according to his interview with GatorsTerritory.com and getting him to flip may be a tougher now. We still feel Mizzou will give him something to think about given his longtime relationship with offensive line coach Brad Davis. Ironically, Wilson has scheduled his official visit to Florida for the weekend of November 3rd, when the Gators host Missouri. Tennessee and Louisville are other schools that are making a push for Wilson as well.

The defensive end target had been committed to TCU since May, but that changed this week when the Warren reopened his recruiting process. It came just days after he received an offer from Texas, which prompted many to think it would be a quick flip to the Longhorns. However, in his interview with Chad Simmons, the three-star prospect appears to simply be taking a step back and taking his time on reassessing his recruiting process. We've mentioned his interest in Missouri previously in The Chamber, and he admitted his interest in learning more about the Tigers with Simmons. However, Oregon just offered Warren and we'd expect other schools to follow now that he's back on the open market.

We did a story on Gary earlier this year when he initially received an offer from Missouri back in February. We have confirmed that the interest is still very mutual on both sides and the three-star prospect told us that he plans on taking an official visit sometime in December. While Gary is listed as a defensive end, the Tigers like him at inside linebacker and he's been communicating with Vernon Hargraeves throughout his recruiting process.

The tide for Washington seems to have swung toward Austin, Texas. The Longhorns are rumored to be the destination for 2020 standout Mookie Cooper and with an October 26th commitment date set, it appears likely Washington will also head to Texas. We would warn that things seem to change on a regular basis with Washington, but our current believe is that he'll be a Longhorn. There are some questions about Washington's speed at the next level. Some of his Power Five offers have dried up. Our sources have indicated Missouri would definitely still take him, but feels it can get comparable talent at wide receiver. But Tom Herman's staff is one that is still very high on Washington. That's where we expect him to land as of today. However, we wouldn't rule out a visit to Missouri still happening.

When The Chamber knocks you down, it likes to try to pick you back up. The news is better with Williams. While he has delayed his commitment date until after the season, sources indicate Missouri is in good shape with this one. Long way to go obviously, but as of today, we're confident in our Mizzou forecast for Williams.

*Perhaps the biggest football news of the week was Woody Wommack's report that Clemson grad transfer QB Kelly Bryant is trying to set up a visit to Mizzou. He visited North Carolina unofficially last weekend and is on an official to Arkansas this week where he will reunite with Chad Morris, who recruited him to Clemson as the Tigers' offensive coordinator four years ago. Right now, those two programs are probably considered the leaders, but Mizzou and Louisville are trying to get visits set up as well. If Missouri can get him, he would instantly become the most important recruit in the 2019 class.

*If Bryant goes elsewhere, look for Mizzou still to chase a grad transfer QB. We've been told there's a pretty good chance Skylar Thompson will leave Kansas State after this year. He'll graduate in May and would have two years left to play. There was a belief that Thompson was going to transfer from Manhattan after last season. That didn't happen, but the chatter has picked back up as Bill Snyder has played musical quarterbacks this year despite Thompson being the better performer. Obviously nothing is going to happen before the end of the season and an actual intention to transfer from Thompson, but if it does, look for the Tigers to take a look and be involved.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING

On the hoops front, the Tigers offered Brown this week. We don't know a whole lot more than that right now. We've reached out to Brown, but haven't been able to talk to him. This is an obvious replacement for EJ Liddell. We'll try to get more information as things go.

The biggest news is that Josh Christopher has set an official visit for next weekend. It will be the first OV for the No. 13 player in the 2020 class. The family connection is obviously a big deal for the Tigers here with Christopher being related to the Mizzou strength coach. Missouri is the only visit he's scheduled and the only one he's ever really talked about visiting. If Cuonzo Martin could get an early commitment from him, it would be a monster start to a 2020 class that has gotten much more important after the Tigers missed on some top targets in 2019. He's always been good about getting back to us, so we ought to have some information coming out of the visit. A commitment this early would be surprising, but weird stuff happens in recruiting all the time.

The other top targets for the 2020 class are Caleb Love and Cam'Ron Fletcher. Most believe the Tigers are in very good shape with Fletcher after the commitment of his teammate Mario McKinney, but there's a long way to go and we don't see either of these guys making a real early decision. It could very well be that nothing develops until after next summer's AAU circuit.
