Amid deteriorating public confidence in the NCAA and Emmert's ability to fix their own problems, the longtime president is looking for help from a group that the NCAA has previously tried hard to avoid: federal lawmakers.

During a panel discussion at the Aspen Institute on Tuesday, Emmert said he was "profoundly concerned" about the lack of trust the public has in the NCAA.

Outside of the protected class member institutes of the NCAA, there is no group of fans, or administrators that does or should trust the NCAA to get any part of their governance responsibilities correct. He said he was "profoundly concerned" then act like it you douchenozzle. You words carry zero weight and the precedent you have created has eroded trust across the board. You no longer need to make example of lesser institutes and target underprivileged student athletes. If you are wanting to be taken seriously make some hard decisions that will negatively impact your organization financially. Have a cause greater than yourself.
