i am not saying the Sterk needs to publicly announce that he is firing Odom. What I am saying is if he is going to fire him should have his mind made up already. The ability to beat a bad TN team and the worst team in P5 football in Arky should have no bearing on whether a coach keeps his job.
I think most people agree that if we lose the last two he is gone. So if Sterk is waiting to see the outcome of these games he is basically just saying he has minimal expectations for the football program. I know there have been worse record than this team will likely have but this is the worst team we have had compared to expectations. Favored preseason in 9 or 10 games depending on who was making the lines.
So if Sterk does not move on after this season he is linking his fate to Odom’s. Another 6-6/5-7 type year and it will be time to removing both the staff and the AD. If I am Sterk I would not want my job security to based off of Odom being able to field a decent team.
Ironically getting Bryant May have been the worse thing that could have happened to Odom. Had Bryant went elsewhere and this team finish 4-8/7-5 most people would probably give him a pass. Especially is Bazelak looks anything like he did in that one drive vs GA. But by getting a QB that played on a playoff team people actually bothered to pay attention and see what Odom is capable of.
