Article accurately portrays the hubris of the elite who have latched on to a problem they cannot solve to run around to feel good meetings to piss away "other people's money" on worse than useless schemes. It's a political exercise of the elite and liberal politician giving them power and prestige. It benefits those reaping profits from their con, say hello Al Gore, secretary Grandholm, Bill Gates, and countless other elites. It benefits crooked politicians in developing countries able to convert stupid payments from developed countries to their accounts. It benefits China and Russia and Mideastern oil exporters as they laugh all the way to the bank.
It hurts the US and Europe as we stupidly commit economic suicide and lower standard of living, while borrowing money to give to crooked small country leaders. It hurts the undeveloped world depriving them of the better life, a working economy and freedom from hunger that electrification would bring.
