That game sucked but I am excited for the future of this program. Here’s what I see happening:
1) Pinson hopefully learns how improve on the defensive end and protects the ball more. Very excited about this kid but I don’t think he’s going to get that much stronger. Mitchell Smith has been trying for years but is still skinny
2) Pickett will be a rock on this team for all 4 years. Kid can do a bit of everything and has pretty high basketball IQ
3) Mark Smith is our lights out shooter who will thrive when our talent improves as he’ll get less attention on D.
4) I hope I’m wrong but Watson looks like he’ll be a Jimmy McKinney type solid but not spectacular player for us. Solid but not spectacular. Again hope I’m wrong and he becomes a star.
5) KJ Santos has the tools but seems to lack some fluidity and basketball IQ. Role player who might have a good year or two at the end of his eligibility.
6) Tilmon is perplexing but I really think he’s learning. He’s improved and the sky is the limit for him. He’ll improve his foul issues.
7) I bet Jontay and Mitchell Smith are both gone next year along with the graduating seniors. Appreciate all kids Mizzou and what they’ve done for Mizzou.
8) I won’t speculate on the incoming freshmen but it would be nice if a couple make an impact. We’ve all heard that Dru Smith great, can’t wait to see his game. Losing Jontay hurt but Evansville stopping Dru’s petition for immediate eligibility killed us this year with the turnover issues we have.
