Is steep. Not many kids can step in and immediately make a difference in a P5 team, MUCH less a P5 team in the SEC.
For those that thought we had a chance tonight, quit drinking the kool-Aid. We won AT Florida last year ONLY because our defense and special teams snowballed into a big win. UF has an even better D this year.
I would love for Drew to have the entire season before we played this game because the defense is Top 15 in the Country. As is Florida's. He needs to play to learn. He also needs some help from his OC. (I think JH needs to be better, or we will see if he remains OC).
I see a lot of bashing on the board.
Let me help you. We have a very good defense. So did Florida last year. Remember their record? Let me help you. 7-5. Let's hope we can get there.
Some thoughts:
--Until Lock gets some seasoning AND the o-line develops, we will struggle.
--Henson did us no favors in the 3rd quarter.
--Abbington needs more touches.
--Let's start rotating some of the younger o-linemen in OR we will have this situation AGAIN next year.
--We need to tackle better.
--Georgia coming off two losses. Jump on them early, OR look out!
--Does anybody know where the middle of the field is for our passing game? Anybody?
--Drew.... I wish you would have arrived in December.
--Zanders needs some touches. a la Treaon Harris.
--Connor, I love your run game, pass pro is.... in need of work.
--Drew, until you get comfortable, think intermediate not long.
One more quick thing to remember, when was the last time the MU defense scored? Seriously, last year it seemed we scored every other game IF not more.
As good as this defense is, it isn't getting points. MU has relied on the D to score for the past two years. It needs more help until the offense can figure out what it is (That's you Josh)
