Seen a lot of talk about how the "exorbitant" number of fouls is slowing down the college game and how much longer the games themselves take. So I decided to look at the numbers. Can't disagree about how much longer they take, but it's not fouling.
Here's the average foul number per game (per team) over the last 40 years.
2019-20: 17.5 FPG
2018-19: 17.7 FPG
2014-15: 19.2 FPG
2012: 17.7 (an NCAA all-time low at that point)
2010: 18.7
2000: 19.9
1990: 19.6
1980: 20.2
