Mizzou is never going to be able to make a home-run hire. Sterk has a good track record, but the best case scenario for us hiring a coach is to get a successful MAC-level HC an hope he can make it work in a major conference. In most situations that's a crap shoot at best. Obviously it has worked out well for us in the past, but there are a lot of that kind of hire that are as bad as GP was good.
So, I hope Odom makes it work. And after Saturday, it really is just blind hope. I won't be crying if he gets canned but I'm all for him figuring it out rather than taking the chance that we're in a similar position 3 years from now.
