I, like many other fans in Tiger Nation, was ready to throw in the towel after this past Football Season. I have had Season Tickets, and donated to TSF for almost 30 years. I intended to pull back due to Mizzou’s total incompetence in dealing with the NCAA, and their lack of commitment to winning. After calming down, I decided to wait and see how this search played out, fully expecting the same ole total incompetence, and ending up with a disastrous “safe hire” result.
I love what Mizzou is attempting this time. I love the fact that they have possibly come to the realization that doing the same thing over and over doesn’t yield different results. For the first time in my lifetime, they are actually sitting at the ‘high roller’ table, rather than sitting at the penny slots. Yes the risk is high, but is it really? Look at the state of our program. This was an awesome hire! They finally did the right thing. I for one am excited to see where this move takes us, and might now actually get to see a conference championship in my lifetime. Right now, this is my only expectation.
