Just was taking a look at the NET rankings for the SEC as we get ready to head into conference play. As a reminder, the NET Rankings is what the committee will use to determine quadrant wins and losses.
The breakdown for the quadrants is as follows:
Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75
Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135
Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240
Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus.
Non-Conference Breakdown
So far, Mizzou's resume looks like:
Quadrant 1: No Wins
Quadrant 2: UCF (41), Oregon State (95), Xavier (70)
Quadrant 3: Illinois (129)
Quadrant 4: Central Arkansas (244), Kennesaw St (329), UT-Arlington (258), Oral Roberts (281), Morehead St. (236)
Their losses so far won't do any harm: Iowa St (29), Kansas St (34), Temple (62). We are big fans of UCF, as they have a legitimate chance to turn into a Q1 win if they perform well in conference. Also need Xavier and Oregon State to hang on to Q2 status. They are both teetering on the Q2/Q3 line.
Conference Breakdown
Now, turning attention to conference play, here are the SEC rankings as of today:
7 Tennessee
12 Kentucky
18 Mississippi St.
20 Auburn
26 LSU
32 Florida
43 Ole Miss
44 Vanderbilt
66 Missouri
72 Alabama
79 Georgia
84 Arkansas
116 Texas A&M
226 South Carolina
As you can see, there will be plenty of opportunities to build on that resume and pick up Q1 and Q2 wins.
Looking at the first four games in conference, Mizzou has a chance to pick up a resume defining win at home against Tennessee right off the hop. Need Mizzou arena to be packed and loud next Tuesday.
Tennessee
@USCe
Alabama
@Texas A&M
Outside of that, you would like to see them take care of business. South Carolina is a must win on the road. A loss to them, even on the road, would be a black mark. Alabama at home and Texas A&M on the road are both games you would like to have as they are in Q2 territory now.
A 4-0 start in conference play has us looking at bracketology
3-1 has us feeling good and leaves the team still in a spot to play their way in
A 2-2 start would keep the tournament conversation alive
1-3 or 0-4 and Mizzou is playing for the future
