Let Mauk run. I understand why you might not do that today, and maybe you don't until BYU but his feet make him a threat.

The broadcast today kept referring to Mauk's high football IQ. I don't know if that's true or an assumption bc his Dad is a coach. That said if he does have a high football IQ then he shoukd stop throwing off his back foot so much and downfield jump balls do not constitute an offense.

I'd like to see a two QB system. Before the season I was on Mauk's side. I said he is 14-4 now 15-4 as a starting QB but now that the staff has burned Lock's redshirt lets get him more time if Mauk isn't playing well. I don't believe he did so today. He had a pick and another one that was called so on the field. You can blame this on his receivers not running full routes but these are the same receivers Lock has to play with.

I'd like to see the O-Line run block better. Run blocking has been a staple of Mizzou football for a long time and today wasn't a good showing. This was SEMO, you need to be blowing the D-Line right off the ball. Our D-Line did that and they played as if they didn't care who the opposition was.

Stop the Running QB. This was the only thing the D didn't do well today. They will want to shore that up before they face a real running QB.

Shore up the dumb penalties. It's the first game so I'll give them a pass on this.

If Culkin is going to keep catching the ball, then let's keep throwing it his way. I was disappointed that Justin Smith was redshirted as he absolutely tore up our much praised secondary. Obviously Culkin is not a deep threat but he does create a size mismatch and if he is finally going to hold on to the ball lets use him more.

I wasn't impressed with our kick returns today. I think more than anything it shows how amazing Murphy was.

Finally, I would to see a few more quick slants and not rely on the deep ball as much. I understand the mismatch today and it worked. I think if you are going to move Brown to the inside it would be wise to use him even more. He is a special, versatile receiver and the more we give it to him the more he will prove his worthiness.
