Have heard nor have I read much about kickoff coverage. This is a huge weakness on this football team. It seems to me it has traditionally been a weakness.
On the other hand...we never returned the ball beyond the 20 yard line.
I think the last two years...the defense was much improved because Baggett mostly kicked the ball out of the end zone. When he or whomever kicks off...field position is always an issue.
Even with Baggett's kickoffs last year...I remember reading a stat where Missouri's field position was considerably worse than their opponents.
As we all know...that is a huge factor. Just think how much more total yardage is needed per game if you are continuously starting inside your 20 the the opponent is consistently outside the 35. That is the way it was Saturday.
Change that.....and that goes a long way to improving an otherwise very suspect offense.
