1) That's a giant monkey Barry Odom just knocked off his back. In a series that has been highlighted by plays Missouri failed to make, the Tigers made the ones necessary to beat South Carolina. It's Odom's first win over the Gamecocks. South Carolina and Kentucky are both 0-2 in the SEC. Tennessee is awful and so is Vandy. Missouri gets the two worst teams in the West. There is no way they should finish worse than third in the East and 9/10 wins are back as a possibility.
2) The biggest of those plays came from Ronnell Perkins. Yes, it was a terrible throw by Ryan Hilinski. But to me it looked like a coverage that confused the QB and a defender he never saw. Once he caught it, Perkins was gone. Does anybody remember another time an interception in the end zone turned around a Missouri/South Carolina game?
3) Game ball to Ryan Walters. You can't just say the other team isn't any good. This team put 459 on Bama last week and Hilinski looked good. In effect, South Carolina made one play against Missouri. The Cocks had six first downs in the first three quarters. They had 189 yards of total offense with four minutes to play. Mizzou allowed 297 rushing yards in the first game of the season and has allowed fewer than 100 in the three games combined. Essentially, South Carolina made one play all game on offense.
4) The offense wasn't great. But Missouri was 6-19 in games the Tigers had scored fewer than 40 points under Odom. In other words, when the offense wasn't good, Missouri didn't win. The offense wasn't good. Missouri won. That's a good thing. And while the offense wasn't great, it did what it needed to do in the fourth quarter with a couple of long, methodical, clock killing drives that never gave the Gamecocks a chance to mount a comeback.
5) Low key game ball to Richaud Floyd. He's a very dependable punt returner. His first two returns gave Missouri great field position and led to points. He wasn't the star or anything, but he made good contributions. The Missouri special teams isn't necessarily winning games right now, but it hasn't lost any and that's big progress from last season.
