I had the opportunity to play in the TQBC golf tournament yesterday. It was my first time. Just wanted to let everyone know what a great event this is.
The weather was wonderful - which helped, but the lunch, dinner, refreshments, old Hawthorne course we're all superb. The football coaches were all there. Our teams celebrity was Gus Otto - he has a very good golf game and is in great shape. He drove up from StL just for the tournament and went back after the awards to babysit his grandkids. It was truly a pleasure to meet him.
Also got to meet former FB Tigers Ray Thorpe and Roger Wherli. There were other celebs, but I had to leave soon after we finished. Johnny Roland is normally there, but wasn't there this year.
It was really a fun experience. And, I will play in it again. The TQBC does this right. So next year if you are wondering if you should play- just do it! You won't regret it.
