Suppose the Bevo 12 decides to add both Cincinnati and Memphis as part of their conference expansion. Suppose the Bevo 12 approaches the ACC about swapping Louisville for WVA.
Suppose Louisville and WVA are both agreeable to the switch.
Is that legally possible?
The. Big 12 benefits by getting two schools within the SEC footprint (Louisville &Memphis) and one in the Big 10 footprint (Cincinnati). They also benefit by adding three schools reasonably close to each other in terms of sceduling etc.
WVA benefits by being in a conference with a better geographic fit.
Memphis and Cincy gain admittance in a Power 5 conference.
Louisville probably breaks even in terms of football and basketball.
ACC gains a natural rival with VA Tech.
I know it is far fetched, and no I have not been drinking.
