It’s Friday night and the liquor is flowing so figured I’d share a tidbit for you all. A few weeks ago I got to talk with one of the men’s hoops players about a lot of things regarding the program. At the time he said they were trying to still add another significant non conference opponent and assistant coaches had mentioned Zona/Michigan as opponents they were trying to coordinate with. Schedule was released and obviously that didn’t happen for whatever reason.
Biggest takeaway was how this guy talked about Trent Pierce. I asked something along the lines of who should we expect to come in and really contribute. He mentioned a few guys but the way he was very serious about Pierce potentially being a ONE AND DONE guy was surprising. I kind of looked at him and was like really? One and done is bold for a four star guy with not a ton of love coming out of high school. He was adamant about it though. Mentioned he was leading scorer in all of their scrimmages, had handles, bounce and stretches the floor with the three. Defensively he’s long and quick. Can guard many positions.
We might be in store for another pretty fun season starting in November.
