For about 20 years, I had Dish for my primary tvs on ground level and at same time had Comcast for upstairs rooms. When this started Dish receivers had to be purchased and were expensive while basic cable was cheap. Over time, Comcast jacked up their price and I switched everything to Dish. Two years ago upgraded to Dish Hoppers/Joeys.
It was great until my 60-70 foot trees bloomed and/or maybe just grew a little bigger ... then, I learned my upgraded Dish equipment needed a stronger signal than old equipment. Dish could not remedy it even though I offered to pay them to raise the Dish (they won't provide this service). Unfortunately, there is on other place the dish for Dishnet can be placed on my wooded property.
So we bundle with Comcast and their customer service sucks ... we know this because we have had problems with X1 platform and more recently, a month ago, one of their boxes fried out in a storm. The fried box is still here and I am one box short.
I have heard DirecTV's satellites are higher in the sky and point in a different direction ... is this accurate? I am thinking Direct told my wife they would raise the dish for a price if necessary, anyone know?
Wife was reading consumer reports regarding Universe and they score high for bundling but it appears tv performance sucks.
I wish I could have stayed with Dish, it was the only keyboard that I could type on with my eyes closed.
