Mr. Tiger, Al Kaline, died today in Detroit at 85. He was one of my favorite players growing up. From everything I’ve read, he was not only a Hall of Fame right fielder, but genuinely nice guy.
Also today, NFL great Bobby Mitchell, who was a running back for the Cleveland Browns and then a wide receiver for the Washington Redskins. He was the first African-American on the the Redskins’ franchise.
