Finally just got a chance to watch the whole game. Kids soccer ate up most of my Saturday.
Announcers: I'm really hoping for uncle Brent next week. This week it annoyed me when kelly stouffer called Maty a 4th year junior two times. That's pretty basic. Someone on their crew must have filled him in at half time, because I didn't hear him repeat that after the half. He is or should be the most important guy on our team. Please do enough research to know what year he is.
On the game: based on the score I was expecting to see a much worse game. On the RBs they have to diversify beyond Ish. Nothing against Ish, but look at the play by Tyler Hunt, that was a 3 yard pass with 48 YAC yards. Chase Abhington ran the ball twice and had 12 yards and a 1st down on his first carry. I'm not saying that chase and Tyler should now be the starters. I'm just saying that ish is getting way too many carrys.
Updated season outlook?: this game doesn't change my outlook that much. We knew the defense was going to carry this team, just like last year. The leader of this offense is one of those "clutch" type of athletes where he does the bare minimum necessary to get the win. But, back to the defense. These guys are scary good. I truly think this defense has the potential to carry us farther than last year. Of course, we will need the offense to improve, but they will get better as the season moves on. And the defense will as well.
Let's not freak out about this game. The loss to Indiana last year was way worse. It was a freackin loss and our defense looked like shit. By the way, this UCONN team may end up being viewed pretty good by the end of the year. They already gave an SEC team all they could handle on the road in a hostile environment! ;-)
