As one of the very few who stayed throughout the most bazaar weather conditions in what has to be the longest game in Mizzou history I have some insights to the mistake prone give away.
First let’s talk about the defense. Our safeties are nonexistent. Despite rotating 4 different players they constantly bite on the run fake and are nowhere to be seen on seam passes.we have seen the last 3 games. Failure to improve this goes right on Walters and Odom.
Our corners have played better but can’t catch a ball. Acy dropped a sure pass that would have won the game on the final drive.
Let’s move to the outside lb and defensive ends.Oh how we miss Coach Kul.! Our ends take too wide a rush and allow the an to step up. How bad was it? We allowed a second backup qb to throw for 289 yards. He had time and composure. Our blitz was ineffective. This is again on Odom his brother and Walters.
Next let’s look at the Offense. Has Drew regressed under Dooley? Certainly the failure to recruit wideout in Odom’s first two years lead to us starting twofreshmen yes true freshmen at wideouts.
As for Dooley his red zone offense is horrible. How about some wildcat? since our receivers can’t get open or catch the ball in crowds. Why not try Badie at wideout for some variety. His quickness might help open up things.
I personally light Barry just like I liked Kim but this is not about like, The Sec is big business and as several Gamecock fans said after the game they were shocked when we hired him.We had the game won in the first half if we don’t have red zone failures. While I don’t like Muschamp he clearly out coached Odom with an untested Qb and a. Secondary without its top safety.
I remain a true Tiger for 50 plus years but I for one am convinced that BarryOdom is not the man for the job in the high stakes SEC. Thank you for your time!
