This is just odd enough to ring true for me, especially because Weiss seems to be reputable. He's a basketball reporter, so this has the scent of someone from the ACC side who is against this and trying to kill it. Utah doesn't officially join the Big 12 until August, other than that I don't know the legalities and mechanics for how a last minute change would work.
