We all saw the comments that stated that the team was winning in spite of Mauk. After what we saw last game, is it worth pondering the idea that Mauk may have been winning in spite of Henson? Do the offensive struggles really rest more on the coaches shoulders? After seeing Drew in action I've come to the conclusion that Drew is the better qb in a well designed offense, but maybe Mauk is the better qb in a poorly designed offense.
Mauk had the ability to extend plays or make plays with his legs. That is an invaluable ability to have in a poorly designed offense. Maybe Mauk broke the traditional rules of fleeing the pocket and taking risks because he knew that if he didn't there was zero chance the team would win with the plays that were being sent to him. Again, I'm not a football guy so they may be way off. Either way Mauk can't be the scapegoat anymore so it will be interesting to see who gets blamed now.
