Yes, it was Vandy, but the evidence continues to mount that we finally have a strong coach. While I may not agree with every decision or play call, he definitely has the program moving in the right direction and gives us something to look forward to on Saturday’s. Also consider the following:
- The players seem to be ready to play hard every Saturday
- For the most part, his play calling is sound and is willing to adjust when needed.
- He plays the kids that make plays (see Dove)
- He allows players to finish the drive when they have success (see Badie)
- He puts in the young kids when it makes sense and provides fans a glimpse of the future (which creates excitement)
- He wins the games he is supposed to win and plays the tough ones closer than expected (for the most part)
- He has had some initial recruiting success and puts in the work
- He has a personality that resonates with the fans and media (also pretty savvy with social media)
Granted it is still early, but at least it is fun to go the games again. For those who worry how long he will be here - who cares? I would rather enjoy having some success vs. no success at all!
