On the surface this looks like it might be tough to get a quality coach but I think we have some things going for us:
- Low expectations. We are cruising to a third straight rock bottom finish. A new coach getting us to 15 wins might look like a genius. When Haith left us overrated talent smart coaches like Marshall knew the expectations outweighed the potential and that's a coach killer.
- Great facilities and an AD who will likely give the coach latitude to play the recruiting game the way it has to be player nowadays.
- It's tough to recruit quality bigs but I think Nikko and Smith will give good minutes in their career if we can keep them.
- Not hard to win in the SEC compared to other P5 leagues.
Hopefully Sterk can smooth talk a competent, charismatic coach to fix this hot mess and we give him a bit of time to do so.
